Your AI assistant can write emails, answer questions, and summarize documents. But it can't see your browser. Until now.
I built OpenClaw Browser Relay to fix that.
The Problem
Every day I do repetitive browser tasks — checking competitor pricing, filling out forms, copying data between tabs, researching topics across 10+ sites. My AI agent could handle all of this. But it had no way to see or interact with Chrome.
The gap between "AI that can write" and "AI that can do" was my browser.
The Fix
OpenClaw Browser Relay is a Chrome extension that connects your OpenClaw AI agent directly to your browser tabs. One click — your agent can now read pages, fill forms, click buttons, and navigate sites on your behalf.
No cloud servers. No data collection. Everything runs through localhost on your own machine.
What I Actually Use It For
Morning Research Routine
I tell my agent "Check competitor pricing on these 5 sites and summarize changes." It opens each tab, reads the pricing pages, and gives me a clean comparison.
Used to take 20 minutes. Now takes 30 seconds.
Form Filling at Scale
CRM updates, supplier registration forms, event signups. I paste the info once, the agent fills it across every platform. The hours I've saved on data entry alone paid for the time I spent building this.
Content Monitoring
Track when competitors publish new blog posts, update features, or change their messaging. The agent checks daily and flags changes. No more manually visiting 10 sites every morning.
Data Extraction
Pull product specs, reviews, or contact info from any website into a structured format I can use. What used to require custom scrapers now happens through a conversation.
How It Works
The setup takes about 60 seconds:
1. Install the extension from Chrome Web Store 2. Enter your OpenClaw Gateway Token 3. Click Attach on any tab 4. Talk to your AI agent — it can now see and control that tab
The extension uses the Chrome Debugger Protocol to give your agent access to the tab's DOM. Your agent can read content, click elements, fill inputs, navigate, and extract data — all through natural language commands.
Privacy and Security
This was non-negotiable for me. Running a business means dealing with sensitive data — client information, financial dashboards, team tools. I wasn't going to route any of that through external servers.
The relay connects exclusively through localhost. Your browsing data never leaves your computer. The Gateway Token ensures only your authorized agent can connect. There's no analytics, no tracking, no cloud dependency.
Your data stays yours. Period.
Why This Matters for Business Owners
If you're running a business and doing repetitive browser tasks every day — checking dashboards, updating CRMs, monitoring competitors, filling forms — you're spending hours on work that an AI agent can handle in minutes.
The bottleneck was never the AI's capability. It was access. Browser Relay removes that bottleneck.
What's Next
I'm working on expanding the relay to support multiple simultaneous tabs, automated workflows that chain actions across sites, and deeper integration with business tools.
If you run a business and want to automate your browser work, this is the starting point.
